Saskatoon at a glance
Saskatoon is located in central Saskatchewan, along the South Saskatchewan River and is the province’s most populous city having surpassed the capital, Regina, in the mid 1980’s.
The University of Saskatchewan is Saskatoon’s largest employer. Residents of our city enjoy a diverse and vibrant economy. Saskatoon is home to the world’s largest potash producer, PotashCorp and the world’s largest publicly traded uranium company, Cameco. Additionally, agriculture, oil and gas, diamonds, gold, coal production, information technology, life sciences, agricultural biotechnology, food processing and manufacturing all play a role in Saskatoon’s growth and sustainability.
Saskatoon is more than just a great place to work, it’s a wonderful city to raise a family. It’s small enough that you’re likely to know your neighbours, but large enough to enjoy a wide range of amenities and activities. Our city offers nearly twenty-five hundred acres of well developed public park space, over 20 kilometres of paved walking paths along an awesome river bank that delivers breathtaking views through all four seasons and an abundance of shopping opportunities, restaurants and gathering places to get together with friends.
