King George

The King George area of Saskatoon is primarily residential with most of its development having occurred before 1960. Approximately eighty percent of the homes there are single-family detached houses while the balance are largely detached duplexes or semi-detached homes.

On average, residents of King George are at the lower end of the income scale, and as one might expect, earnings are reflected in housing prices that fall towards the lower ten to twenty percent of the market as a whole.

King George School is the only elementary school in the area and it offers instruction to children enrolled in the elementary system while catholic school students take the bus to a neighboring area.

The area is home to two parks that offer a total of forty-one acres of green space and amenities which include baseball, a skateboard park, cross country ski trails, playgrounds, walking paths, a paddling pool and a swimming at Riversdale Pool. Victoria Park is a popular destination spot due to its lush landscape and excellent river views.
