Welcome sign at entrance to Erindale area of Saskatoon

Welcome to lovely Erindale in Saskatoon.

Erindale is definitely one of our favorites, especially if you’re looking for a good quality family area. It’s one of Saskatoon’s larger residential subdivisions with a population approaching forty-five hundred people and the area has large number of children and young teenagers. There are two great elementary schools (Dr. John G. Egnatoff School, and Father Robinson) nearly central to the neighborhood, and an easy walk from almost any location within Erindale. High school students have fairly easy access to two of our city’s newest high schools located in neighboring University Heights, Saint Joseph’s and Centennial Collegiate.

The Erindale neighborhood boasts nearly thirty-five acres of public park space in its two major parks, Ernest Lindner Park and John Avant Park. Between them, residents have access to baseball and basketball facilities, soccer pitches, two outdoor rinks, a couple of good playgrounds, a wonderful spray park and lots of walking trails. The centerpiece of this area is the man made lake at John Avant Park. Surrounded by upper end luxury homes with walkout basements the park is beautifully landscaped with lush lawn spaces, and maturing trees and shrub beds.

Development in this area began to progress in the mid 1980’s and continued through to it’s completion in the late 1990’s. Home to residents that earn an income which far exceeds the average household income for Saskatoon, most of the homes built in this area are priced well above the average, with entry level homes starting roughly ten percent above the average selling price of a Saskatoon home.

I have recently moved my family from Lawson Heights to Erindale. The children are 8 and 7. My sig other and myself bought a home on Gillam place. I have changed the childrens school from St.George to Father Robinson.[A very positive academic and social move] We both work at the University, so avoiding the bridge is fabulous, and the commute every week day is much nicer. The neighborhood is safe, clean, people are friendly, and there are 2 grocery stores only a short 3 minute drive away!

Since purchasing in November [prices are not cheap] We have found that the streets are cleared of snow very regularily [unlike Lawson] We are minutes from everything, yet, we have the privacy we need and neighbors are not on top of one another if we choose to sit on our deck. If I had to rate the area, it would be a 10 out of 10. Well worth the money!
