Buena Vista
Buena Vista is located in south central Saskatoon and offers easy access to downtown Saskatoon and a number of popular Saskatoon golf courses. Roughly seventy-five percent of the homes in the area are detached houses and the area’s close proximity to the University of Saskatchewan makes detached duplexes a popular housing type for rental revenue.
Roughly half of the homes in Buena Vista were built before 1940, some in the first couple of decades of the 1900’s so you’ll find an interesting mix of homes from old character homes, to war time houses, to more recent infill development. Large lots and a mature landscape give the area a certain charm.
The area has just one school, Buena Vista, which is part of the public system. Catholic school students are bussed out of the area.
Buena Vista has nearly twenty acres of park space between three public parks offering baseball and basketball facilities, numerous playgrounds, plenty of walking paths, and a paddling pool. Bordering the South Saskatchewan River, Gabriel Dumont Park is a wonderful spot to enjoy a summer afternoon because of its pretty views and picnic sites.
The patio at Tastebuds Cafe‘ is a popular gathering spot for specialty coffees, light meals, desserts and good times with friends.
